      The salary needed for a household to qualify for a mortgage for the average house in all these counties is about 10k above all these. Dublin is 94k and cork is 70k.

      What am I missing here? The post I’ve linked below from last week puts the mean gross disposable income in Ireland at €83,083 where these numbers are all far lower (with the exception of Dublin of course). I get that that’s a mean and this is a median. But on that other hand that’s gross disposable income, where this is gross household income. Is there really that much of a gap between mean and median?

      In fairness it seems like our wealth is fairly well distributed around the country without too many huge disparities. This would be a very different story in England for example.
