Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM), Numan Kurtulmuş, accepted congratulations yesterday during the ceremony held on the occasion of the 105th anniversary of the opening of Parliament and National Sovereignty and Children’s Day on April 23.

The ceremony took place in the Marble Hall of the Parliament, where many prominent figures extended their congratulations to Kurtulmuş, including CHP Chair Özgür Özel, AKP Group Chair Abdullah Güler, heads of high judicial bodies, some ministers, deputy speakers of Parliament, members of Parliament, former members of the TBMM, Ankara Governor Vasip Şahin, and university rectors.

Among those who congratulated Kurtulmuş by shaking his hand was also a child.

When Kurtulmuş asked, “Who are you? Come here. What’s your name?”, the child replied. Upon hearing the child’s name, Kurtulmuş followed up with, “What’s your surname?”

When the child answered “İmamoğlu,” there was a brief moment of silence. Kurtulmuş repeated the surname “İmamoğlu,” then patted the child on the head and saw him off.

      No escape from justice!
