The development fund only gets approved by the World Bank when the local government plays ball with the US. €141 million, what a joke. Could have spent towards housing. 10 years ago it used to mean rolling bank of social services and opening up the market its resources, I can’t even imagine what it would mean now.

The comments here are depressing. No €141m will not solve the housing crisis here in Ireland, not even €141bn would do that, the crisis is complex. However, this money can assistant millions of people in developing countries, which in turn stops the forced flow of migration to Europe.

World Bank’s development institution is just the official way of saying public money for private pockets, fuck all of that will benefit the poor of any country. It`ll be funnelled into projects that will enable the already rich to garner even more wealth from some other countries natural resources.
