Free trade costs millions of jobs in North America as Canadian and American politicians betrayed their citizens,signed free trade agreements and outsourced Canadian and American jobs to low wage almost slave-like China particularly,Asia generally and Mexico.Politicians who signed free trade agreements should be viewd as economic traitors.Free trade,automation and computerization all costs jobs leaving people without any decent paying jobs to earn a living.

Both the Liberal and Conservative Parties believe in free trade agreements which leave Canadians no party to vote for to protect their insecure jobs.

After Canadian and American politicians went on an orgy in their signing numerous free trade agreements,there was nothing on the shelves of Canadian stores made in Canada.

The media has portrayed Trump for 9 years as the reincarnation of the Devil on Earth while they ignored the hard fact that he kept the U.S. out of costly and stupid wars when he is in Office and he keeps trying to bring jobs back to the U.S.

Misleading topic, low-key media spin. The EU has never been free regarding trade. Free trade is more of a spectrum than an absolute. You can only have free trade on certain goods, but not on everything. Countries protect certain industries for economic reasons.

Secondly, regulations still apply. Even if tariffs are low, goods still have to meet health or safety standards. “Free” trade agreements aren’t fully free because they involve the rules of origin, import quotas, anti-dumping strategies and exemptions as sectors get carved out or phased in.

Lastly, domestic industries still have government subsidies which distort trade just as much as tariff would.

Imagine a world where he just implimented a 10% import tax on consumer goods and called it a day.
No major market and supply chain disruptions and he would still get to tax the poorest.

That’s actually a really funny headline because the EU is notorious for its protectionism.
