      Wow – that’s getting fairly high for a nation during peacetime. Can’t be great feeling the need to focus that much spending on defence.

      This seems wise, but is strategically risky if they hope to push Trump to be more favorable towards NATO. It is more likely to create more drama down the line.

      As an Estonian I think this is too high. It seems like politicians just spurt out increasingly big random numbers with no regard to actual economic possibilities and reason. We could raise it to 20% and we wouldn’t be much better protected than now.

      Smart, given the current environment. Each nation needs to do what is necessary to defend their sovereignty.

      Good job Estonia! But if you feel a war is on the horizon, you will need to spend 15-20% of your gdp on defense. Don’t put all your hopes on EU having your back.
