In questo giorno, 51 anni fa il capitano Salgueiro Maia, uno dei leader della rivoluzione portoghese, si trovava di fronte a carri armati fedeli al governo, gli ufficiali si rifiutarono di obbedire agli ordini del generale di sparargli, essere arrestati e in seguito lo squadrone si unì alla rivoluzione.
