there isn’t much need for ukraine to discuss anything with trump. he doesn’t support ukraine anyway – and consequently he has no cards. he is just a typical greedy american, who want to leech on ukraines natural ressources. nobody in europe needs that.

I am Ukrainian and I would perceive any deals being made “on the bones” (local idiom) of my relatives as a big sign of disrespect.
On the “fun” side (just because time cures), I remember old grannies arguing who mourns the most at my grandma’s funeral. Imagine my impression of witnessing that.

I have a little bit of hope that one-to-one Zelensky can get across to Trump. from the pictures I’ve seen so far, he seems to be listening, for once.
I thought it strange that they would allow political meetings at the funeral, but the Pope Francis did call for bridge building, so this may be a symbolic gesture to honor that call.

This feels super inappropriate. Trump making the pope’s funeral about himself and his “art of deal” in the most important church on earth.
It feels like a fever dream. We’re only at month 4 of his presidency.
I will never forget the face of Pope Francis on the way out after his first meeting with trump, he knew with absolute certainty he had met the anti-christ. And he was not wrong.
