Didn’t he reverse or diminish the sanctions first? NOW he wants to impose sanctions… as if it’s a brilliant idea. They were there, he removed them.
It’s honestly possible that the grandeur of the setting and the size of the event (that he, Donald Trump, was invited to) helped Zelenskyy to persuade him. Though who knows, he might just flip back tomorrow.

Well, considering… Historically, Trump has used the word “considering” when he wants to prove his critics wrong and boost his image but never tend to follow through. Plus, it is not like any further sanctions on Russia by the US would make any difference at this point.

Trump’s threats are nothing but words which will be ignored or mocked by Putin with more strikes in the coming days. If Trump wants to really send a message, provide Ukraine with more weapons as well as sanctions.
