This week, for the first time, France deployed a group of nuclear-capable Rafale strike fighters to Sweden for a major training exercise called PEGAS25.
While visiting the deployment, France’s ambassador, Thierry Carlier, confirmed that the French “nuclear umbrella” extends to protect Sweden.
