Just a few days after announcing a 100% weekday renewable production https://www.reddit.com/r/europe/comments/1k65mth/spain_hits_first_weekday_of_100_renewable_power/

I would smell this is related to a cyberattack of some sort.

Blackout is not bad. What I would like to know is; did it cause emergency shutdowns of powerplants?

I don’t know if this is related with this outage, but recently there was a lot of warning in Greece about Photovoltaic power generation overloading the network somehow. I think it was related to the Easter vacation changing power consumption distribution. As a result they requested a large number of solar farms to disconnect from the network..

I wonder if something similar is seen here given the growth of the solar production ….

    5. Given the large amount of solar that was active at the moment. My hunch is that the HVDC trip lead to a voltage sag that triggered the solar inverter voltage protection and they disconnected en masse. Then, transmission protection acted and resulted in a cascade blackout.
