Cork Airport is on a steep gradient above the city; is it even possible to use this tram system for that type of journey ?
Hope there’s a stop for the Events Centre too
They do realise Cork airport is frequently invisible because it’s literally enveloped by low cloud?
“Proposed” here meaning random members of the public have written in “why not send it to the airport”, even though that would be a completely different project
They’re going to call it Cork Urban Network Transport, CUNT for short.
It is a little strange the busiest and 3rd busiest airports are supposed to get rail links, but not the second. Cork’s getting a fair bit of investment recently, but transport really is its Achilles heel.
Another ducking waste of money… let’s just sit around and talk about it instead of doing anything…
Look, you just can’t have trains going to airports. CIE did experiments in the 1950s and concluded it goes against the laws of nature. They’ll be trying to put mixer taps in bathrooms next!
These are just plans to make the government look better. None of these plans are ever actually completed. I would love to see it happen, we desperately need proper links from airport to cities. What’s the bare minimum in modern European countries seems to be a pie in the sky plan in ireland.
