Why is the EU still acting like nothing is happening in Turkey

      Or Serbia for that matter

Edit: Guys, I understand perfectly fine WHY the EU is acting this way in geopolitical terms. It’s a rhetorical question. I am criticizing it on moral grounds.

Meloni truly is the Regina George of the EU at this point, like I’m waiting for Pink Wednesdays to be enshrined in the Italian constitution.

Erdoğan has lost a lot of weight, probably due to the stress from political unrest and financial instability.

Looks like they feel very differently about how well the date is going.

    9. Are the turkish people still on the streets or are they waiting for the dictator to die someday in his bed, with their money in his pockets, like the russians?

Şu herif aniden ölürse avanesinin vay haline. Düşünsenize aniden ölüyor ve sülükleri kaçacak zaman bulamadan ülkede kalakalıyorlar. Sadece benim listemde son yirmi sene içinde ebesini selamlayacağım altı kişi var.

The funniest thing is that you can tell who is Italian like me by how angry the comment is towards Meloni, however I would like to point out to everyone that 1) we trade a lot with Turkey 2) Erdogan uses migrants as migratory bombs but he is also able to stop the flow, that’s why we keep him quiet 3) he is the only army besides the Ukrainian one that the Russians see badly or maybe with fear, in the past they took them from the Turks and then it’s a former empire, it has a weight in history that it carries 4) It’s not that if Meloni says a few words with Erdgoan suddenly Erdogan is blameless.
You give too much weight to diplomatic and institutional formalities, decisions are not taken at these gala dinners

As a Canadian of Italian descent, I’m glad my country voted for someone who isn’t a batshit insane conservative.

Can’t say the same for these nations, though.

Italians, Turks, stay strong in these trying times.
