Wingo added a 1.- per month price increase policy for all their subscriptions…

“as heavily as that” – Salt customers bawling in the background. They legally can do that, written somewhere in the contract in probably the tiniest of tiny prints, but since it’s Wingo then you can get out of it fairly easily at least.
You get 2gb bandwidth for 1chf more. I pay 99chf for that a month. So dont argue. Heavily upcharge for 1chf ?
Their wording is pretty clear, you get a lifetime discount. They’re still free to change the base rate of the packages.
And if you think CHF 1 is bad, try other countries where you get something like yearly increase by inflation + maintenance costs of several percentage points.
And for the record, I don’t like increases. But unless a regulator steps in, there isn’t really much we can do apart from switching.
It’s a one time increase of CHF 1.00 on your monthly bill. Not a compounding increase of CHF 1.00 each month.
And yes, this is legal. Wingo doesn’t promise a lifetime fixed price. They promise a lifetime discount. The base price increases, your discount amount stays the same, so the final price increases.
same boat – started my handy abo this jan and called them and complaint – they offered to keep me out of this new price until the end of 2025.
their arguments were that for years they did not alter the prices and this needs to be done to stay competitive – my counter: not my beer as I am a new customer that has not been affected by their prev. business decisions and that it feels very unjust that not even after 3 months into my contract they plan to alter the base prices.
also the lifelong promotion is not really lifelong – per june this year these promos (deduction of 48chf on each of my abos will change to 47CHF) will also decrease and the support person confirmed that the term “lebenslang” is not really lebenslang.
set up a call and explain your situation as a new customer and that you would like to hear what they can offer in order to make it less unpleasant for you.
