Nothing about this surprises me. What surprised me was that several years ago the voters still decided to keep Erdogan in place when it was obvious he’s another in the growing line of old, white, male wanna be kings.
Fuck Turkey, they will never be a EU member and they don’t belong in NATO.
What they need is another Kamal Pasha. Turkey needs a renaissance.

421 people were the last I heard had been detained. These weren’t even political protests just May 1st Workers’ Day celebrations. Some people were detained simply for being in the wrong place at the wrong time, and erdogan’s police didn’t like that.
Many of the detentions were plain violent. Some women were even sexually assaulted by the police.
It just shows how far behind we are when it comes to human rights and democracy unfortunately. Even 5% of what we’ve been experiencing in recent months would cause mass outrage and unrest in democratic parts of Europe like France. We can’t even go to Taksim Square to protest. How insane is that?
Did you say thank you to all your wonderful compatriots in Germany who voted for this?
Hopefully Turks living abroad who voted for Erdogan can now see what they really voted for, and regret it.
