This is yet another reason to prioritize European military purchases/investments (including Ukranian).
The US is blocking/delaying a donation of a *decommissioned* tank which was *bought and fully paid by another country* from being donated *to an allied nation*.
And Ukraine is certainly allied – both by their supportive actions after 9/11, and now confirmed with the minerals deal (before any trolls come out of the woodwork).
The mistrust US is gathering is astonishing, like they’re in some imaginary Olympics to the bottom.
At least they aren’t blocking the Patriot transfer from Greece (is that really what deserves praise these days though? It’s Greece who’d deserve gratitude here). I hope Ukraine receives the tanks as well.
I can’t imagine all this to be easy reading about political flip flops when fighting for your survival. Deepest respect, Victory and Glory to Ukranian Heroes.

Australia will be needed when the war in the pacific begins. So, they must keep their strength

They want Ukraine playing defense not offense.
Or maybe it is just because the current US government is a bunch rabid monkeys with grenades. Although there might have once been the concept of a plan, there is no coherent plan day to day. It is just an orange narcissist pushing and slashing about while trying to become dictator, with his band of clowns serving him for the power and the money. And time is not on their side.
This tragic circus is just getting started.

The more they try and blackmail to get what they want and at the same time hamper people’s interests, everyone is gonna move away and slowly shift investment elsewhere. And once people have done the painful divorce they won’t come back
Using the words ‘logic’ and ‘US policy under Trump’ together is the ultimate definition of an oxymoron.
It just accelerates thinking in Australia that we must move away from reliance on the USA but that’s going to take 20 years. Until then we are stuck dealing with the ramblings of an incoherent toddler who the USA has elected President, twice. If we can’t supply the tanks we will help in other ways. Fortunately support for Ukraine has broad support across both major political parties and the public in general.
Keep more equipment near Taiwan maybe?
What’s the chances that the block will be lifted and the tanks will make it to the Ukraine before the Taurus missile. The odds are orange hair man will change his mind three times before the German bureaucratic consensus comes up with one decision. Any updates on the Taurus?
