And on the 22nd Of June 1941 we all know what happened over there.

That’s not a real surprise as Russia and Germany were best buds until June 1941.

F.e. Russia famously made the Molotov-ribbentrop pact with Germany to carve up Poland between them, and invaded Poland ‘in the rear’ when they were fighting against Germany.

Yes, because Germany and the Soviet Union were allies at that time, largely in order to jointly invade and take control of Poland.

Russians still refer to The Great Patriotic War and not WW2. Russians also, as far as I know never refer to their alliance with Hitler.

That’s why this utter disgrace of a nation tries to rewrite history and claim the war started in 1942.

I agree with the American general who wanted to continue WW2 and destroy the cancer that is Russia. Would have been saved us all so much more pain.

      >Nazi officials were in countries before they started the war

gee the brainwaves on this sub are off

Well, that must’ve been awkward. For them, because they were like: look at them, we’ll definitely going to invade them…

Remember the USSR was an ally of Nazi Germany till June 1941.

Russia and Germany weren’t allies in that sense. They both were suspecting the other side to wanting to invade and they were both right about it.
That’s why they felt that pact became necessary in the first place.

On the 1. of May, Russia, as a lot of other countries, would regularly hold a military parade. They probably invited the Germans to showcase them their army as in saying “Look at all our guns and bombs and disciplined army you have to face if you go to war against us.”
