    1. It’s not like Boeing has never been implicated in industrial espionage or ties to the military…

      Europeans want Chinese planes.

China must be rewarded for sending troops to fight against Ukraine.

      Shameless continent

    3. The future is bleak for Boeing. There was a series of faults with their planes, now tariffs are making them noncompetitive.

    4. Efficient-Hold993 on

Love when the free market means lawmakers of one country warn a foreign company to buy their planes, or else…

      Ahahhahahahahhahahahhaah. No wait, ahahhahahahahahhahahahahahahhahah.
What are they going to do? Not allow them to flyto shithole ameritardia? They never flown there and there’s no plans to do it

    6. ThirstyMooseKnuckle on

Buy Canadian made ones. We have a free trade agreement. Bombardier makes commercial planes. That way we arent feeding the beasts.

Ryanair is making empty threats to put pressure on Boeing, likely to achieve more price discounts. No Chinese plane is certified to fly in the West, and Airbus’ order book is booked for years. They’re stuck with Boeing.

While I do think Michael O’Leary is right (ugh) to float the idea and put pressure on Boeing, I would be shocked in Ryanair moved away from them. Almost the entire fleet is 737’s which makes it incredibly convenient for them since they only have to train pilots and engineers on one model, and means they can swap almost all parts freely between their aircraft.

Introducing new models to the fleet would be a big change and expense.

    9. I seriously doubt Ryanair will buy any Chinese planes. The fact that they’re only operating one type of plane means massively easier operations when it comes to maintenance especially but also flight crews. And those simplified operations translate into lower costs that allow them to undercut their competitors.

Yet you keep trusting Boeing… They keep killing people, and their workers

      > due to security concerns.

*737 MAX and unbolted doors have joined the conversation…*

Michael O’Leary has been doing this for more than 20 years, he just wants more hiper-mega-discounts from Boeing.
Part of Ryanair success story was buying planes at huge discounts when the manufacturers/industry were struggling. It started in the aftermath of the 9/11 (2001) attacks

      >*Ryanair’s campaign for domination of low-cost aviation in Europe began in January 2002.*
*With airlines shrinking and closing down, demand for new planes was negligible – until the Irish airline’s boss ordered 100 new 737s with options on 50 more at unprecedented low prices.*

Why don’t they just buy Airbus which is European? all Ryanair market is in Europe anyway.

oh, now we are back on the same team, are we?

If tourists don’t want to visit the US, problem solved.

    17. RobertJCorcoran on

A US lawmaker warns an European company, who does not operate in the US, to do something.
By the title, we can already see that US should stay in the US and stop bothering everyone else.

    18. Different_Focus_1371 on

What’s it got to do with America? I don’t think that Ryan Air operates in the US and it’s an Irish Company. America should keep its nose out of European Business. They have enough problems of their own- and wait till there self imposed Chinese trade war kicks in …😀

    19. AdhesivenessFun2060 on

Its all “free market!” Until you’re not in that market.

    20. Popular_Ad6345 on

Anybody with half a brain would advise anyone against buying Chinese. I wouldn’t want to be in a subway built by the Chinese, much less a tube at 30,000 ft

Usa is not only becoming a dictatorship in itself they are also invested in becoming the dictator of the world In general lol

Ha ha ha ..If only John Gotti was still around. He’s make a great member of congress in todays world.

    23. Vast_Decision3680 on

Ryanair doesn’t even fly to or operate in the USA so why should they even care?

    24. Beneficial-Movie83 on

eggs and basket – Ryanair and Boeing both making silly noises before they both sign another contract. Next.

    25. They are years away of getting any certification. Why is this even a topic when they wont be allowed to fly in any western air space?

    26. EchidnaWhich1304 on

🤣🤣🤣 Michael O’Leary only cares about money
