There’s a lot of negative comments here, but isn’t this good for Ukraine?
This seems to be a rare anti Russia, pro Ukraine move from the current administration.
The key issue I see is that it probably won’t encourage countries to stop buying Russian energy, because I doubt they will be confident that the tariffs will be removed given how haphazard they have been applied.

Small question: how much Russian energy does the US import? As 500% of nothing remains nothing.
Edit: I stand corrected. It is 500% tariffs on all American imports from countries importing Russian energy. This is indeed massive, not necessarily for Iran and China products, but definitely for India. If this gets passed it would be an amazing thing for Ukraine. Maybe not for European industry, as I can see this making our energy more expensive (as India resells Russian energy to us).

Do this and make sure Ukraine get their territory back. If restoring Trump’s image is even possible at this point, that would be a good start.
