Additional information: Tesla sales down while EV sales in Sweden rose 25% in April Y/Y.

Tesla is not even in the top 10 most sold car in Denmark for 2025

In 2024 it was number 1 with almost twice as many sold as number two, and in 2023 Tesla sold three times as many cars as number two.

Teslas are ugly and cheaply made. A Tesla driver is a good mark should you be looking for someone to exploit.

I’m guessing it has to do with preorders of the new model(?)

As a Norwegian I’m sorry. I to owned a Tesla before I traded it with a Polestar.

    6. Norwegian here. This is reasons why the sales still are high in Norway:
      – Tesla is running aggressive insentives on the new Y (0,0% financing for 3 years)
      – Telsa sold well for 3-5 years ago, so many of the sales are repeat costumers who find this to be a natural time to upgrade
      – Since almost everyting sold here is electric Tesla has long been the go-to car buy if you want something with good range and price. Many people don’t follow the news closely, and they end up in a tesla showroom when shopping for a new car
      – The market is up 18%, so an increase of 11% is still a loss of marketshare

Not trying to defend Tesla here, but I just wanted to give some insight

Looks like the Norwegian numbers have been misinterpreted.

According to [this article (norwegian)](https://www.tek.no/nyheter/nyhet/i/JbAPgb/elbilsalget-knuser-alle-rekorder-tesla-sliter) citing [this source (also norwegian)](https://ofv.no/aktuelt/2025/nybilsalget-p%C3%A5-vei-opp) the 11 % figure is Teslas current market share, not its change of sales.

Quote from the source, my translation:

      >At the entrance of May Tesla had a market share of 11 %, compared to 18 % at the same time last year

Edit: I misinterpreted as well apparently. In April 2025 Tesla sold 11.8% more cars than in April 2024, but for 2025 so far the sales are 20% lower than at the same time in 2024. So sales did go up for April, but the overall trend is downwards.

    8. Tesla is down 32% this year compared to last year so they are going down in Norway, not sure where the 11% increase from.

But they’re half the population of Sweden so it matters less? i get it theyr’re rich but i still bet it’s the same % of car owners, hardly everyone needs more than 1 ev per person.

This doesn’t make sense. Are we sure these aren’t cars ordered before the new year?

Norway always needs to be special and better than the rest of the eu peasants

We have a word for Norwegians like this:
      Quisling.

Which is quite fitting in regards to Musk.
