The tweet you posted describes quite precisely how parties can be banned in Germany (which has happened exactly twice so far): by the Federal Constitutional Court after extensive scrutiny. Not by the government (we’ve had that before, it didn’t end well).

While I think AfD is indeed an extremist right wing party, and it is dangerous, I think banning it isn’t the solution. Will banning the party solve Germany’s problems? Will banning the most popular party in Germany solve the reason why it exist? Absolutely not, and indeed, it can make it worse since it seems these populist right wing parties win a lot from victimizing themselves.
A real and serious political response is needed, a political response based on REALITY and not in stupid idealisms that have just polarized humanity and it is destroying democracy. From where will the hope come? Definitely not from banning AfD.
