I’ve said before and I’ll say again, President Zelensky is shaping up to be this generations Churchill.

In the US film Apollo 13 one of the astronauts (played by Tom Hanks) explains the Moon landing: “From now on, we live in a world where man has walked on the moon. And it’s not a miracle — we just decided to go.”

I think of what happened during and after WW2 in that same manner. There were no guarantees, the continent was run through.

But VE day reminds us, we live in a world where Europe is at peace. And it’s not a miracle. Europe decided to move forward together.

Some want to go to Mars. I want to see freedom and democracy and the rule of law taken into consideration by more nations first. Mars can wait. I think this business is more pressing and no less inspiring.
