Hey Sci-fi and History lovers! Happy Star Wars Day! Here’s a lil’ treat to celebrate properly our fav day of the year: a WWII-inspired Star Wars blaster!

In the Star Wars movies, the Imperial forces use the DLT-19 “heavy blaster rifle”, a fictional intergalactic rifle based… on the German MG34 machine gun from World War II. The MG34 was a highly advanced automatic weapon for its time, while the DLT-19 has the look of a rugged sci-fi machine gun, perfect for stormtroopers.

PS: we _might_ have more cool intergalactic inspirations in store, but we’ll need to dig a bit more OR you’ll need to come and see us for that, sorry.

I am sorry to tell you but even with tracer bullets, the MG42 doesn’t count as a laser weapon and is, as far as I know, not part of the official imperial shock-trooper combat kit.
