Only buy coffee while there’s sale in progress. At least big shops have regular sales regarding coffee and it can still be bought in semi reasonable price. And when there is a sale stock up so you can manage to next sale.

I know what you mean. For once it’s not really a grocery store greed issue but climate change and global greed

Jyrki Niemi, a research professor at the Natural Resources Institute Finland, noted that global coffee production has failed to keep up with demand for four consecutive years. Severe droughts in Brazil and extreme weather in Vietnam have impacted harvests, driving up prices.

Same over here in Sweden. 100 SEK a pack, its fucking insane. 100% increase in like one year

If it makes you feel better, the prices are much worse in Sweden. close to 14-17 EUR in some places.

    5. Its funny how some people spends 40€ or more on weekend beers etc or happily buys a cup of coffee for 2€ at restauraunts but as soon as coffee package prices goes up a little everyone loses their shit. The price increase is actually small if you look at the price of one cup and one coffee package gives you lots of cups.

Coffee is hard to grow without slavery… That’s what you’re paying for

Buy beans from micro roasters instead of the large companies’ pre-ground coffee.

    8. Fiksuruoka and Matsmart have sometimes pretty decent coffee promotions, I’d give them a try.

Whatever you do, don’t look at the fancy coffee shelf. 250g for more price than that.

    10. The funny thing is you can now just buy more expensive luxury coffee because the price difference to “normal” coffee is so small now.

Does Finland or Scandinavia as a whole, have a micro roaster culture? EG; any small shops buying bulk beans and roasting them? We are moving from the US to Sweden and Gevalia is “inte så got”. We usually buy from a local roaster instead of big shop brands. Just curious since you’re posting a coffee post, perhaps you are a hidden expert.
