It should never have been and all “golden passports” already purchased should be revoked.
The thing that was really weird about Malta is that it is hard as shit to actually get citizenship. If you came on the golden visa, which was cheaper, you might not live to get a passport. But under this program, you could go straight to the passport.

Not enough. IMO we need to revoke the EU nationality of those who bought it. Countries that do not comply should be excluded from the union.

We are still selling it in Portugal. You just need to say you are trying to find a job here… After 5 years you earn the right of a passport. It is mind-blowing.
