We just don’t have the infrastructure in place to support more houses. Raw sewage overflows into Dublin Bay now when we get heavy rain as the system overflows.

So maybe build said infrastructure? Not like we had 20 years for it…

Apparently more important to get data centres connected to the grid than homes, shock.

we were waiting a year for esb / eirgrid to turn up to unclip our cables so we could get external insulation. they really really really are not fit for purpose. like – external insulation is literally government policy and they don’t support it. Even worse – they won’t even tell you approximately when they will turn up its just ‘expect us when you see us’ which is no good when booking insulation.

Management in general is so hilariously bad in Ireland. I don’t understand how we keep fucking it up on anything mildly complex projects

To be fair, they were already delayed because of mains water and lack of building capacity.

Do they not know you have to bribe the ESB engineers
