Barely gets mentioned in our history, unfortunately. He’s a very interesting historical figure, and I’d put him 2nd only to Napoleon for the time period

Just another albanian doing more for another country than for his own 🤣

    3. Mean something? He’s largely irrelevant to Albanian history, his contribution to his ethnicity might as well be non-existent.

When i was in egypt people mentioned him a lot, it seemed like people in alexandria liked him cause he built the trams there(still running today)

In albania we dont talk about him that much

As someone who is interested in history, I respect him highly, fellow Albanian who was successful in his own attempts. The problem? Another Albanian who did more for the others than his own population.

He’s incredibly important to Albanian history. I’m surprised at the comments here. Ali Pasha secured Albanian dominance in Egypt. If you read his story you’ll learn he only agreed to reconcile with the Ottoman Sultan on the condition that Egypt remain under the control of his family/Albanian rulers. So up until the 1952 revolution Albanians ruled Egypt. Little known but very true and awesome fact. Anyone who says he did more for himself than Albanians is misinformed.
