The Russian government has seized assets of Lesta Games, the developer of World of Tanks, citing support for Ukraine and extremism allegations, which aligns with broader government actions against companies supporting Ukraine. This legal action appears to be part of a pattern of asset seizures targeting entities associated with the game and its support for Ukraine.
World of Tanks split in 2022 into 2 separated companies, one has remained as World of Tanks in the western/global market, and second was renamed as Mir Tankov for Russian market developed by Russian studio Lesta
Or in other words, this is about Russian Mir Tankov (clone of World of Tanks), not about World of Tanks itself. The companies have nothing in common since 2022

Effing inheritance of an intellectual property to another business, in the year 2025? What the shit? I would have paid good money for the IP, at least certainly more than nothing.

Nothing tells how “mighty” one’s tanks are as harassing the game company which produces very accurate tank simulation.

Lesta Studios has very recently released their earnings, they have gone up by quite a lot. My guess is someone (with better government connections than the owner of Lesta) wants to get a piece of that cake, so they make some claims that get them investigated. It will magically change ownership and then continue operations.

Nothing unusuilal for Russia. It’s a financially successful project — of course it will be taken from the original owners and given to Putin’s friends.

They probably found out sometimes Russian tanks don’t win or are outright destroyed. We can’t have that.
