      [Pope Leo XIII](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pope_Leo_XIII) was known as “the ‘Social Pope’ and the ‘Pope of the Workers'”, who “in his famous 1891 encyclical Rerum novarum outlined the rights of workers to a fair wage, safe working conditions, and the formation of trade unions”. That’s the name he chose to adopt, which probably also tells us something about his agenda.

      More good than bad. Seems to be a progressive centrist. Appointed by pope Francis as cardinal during the late years of Biden’s presidency, so perhaps ahead of the storm as other sources seem to say he’s an opponent of the MAGA mindset.

      He speaks up for minority groups, but has always kept his lips sealed about LGBT+ so he may not be a proponent there. Perhaps his views are simply live and let live and he has nothing more to say. But has also been criticized for not having done enough to help victims of church sexual child abuse when he could have done more from his position.
