    1. Now all their neighbors will militarize further thus becoming stronger against not only Hungary but Russia as well, which is great… as long as these countries don’t fall to extreme right

So we are in a situation in which a wanna-be despot is banking on the demise of the greatest peace and prosperity project ever created, in order to then fullfil his irredentist fantasies and embark on a project of hungarian expansionism that would rival the worst episodes in the history of danubian europe.

Of course gone would be freedom, democracy, hope, trade, prosperity in the process. A century of regression just to satisfy the autocratic and sociopathic fantasies of this fucking kleptocrat.

Hungarians have to stop this madness and put this sinister bloke behind bars

    3. He don’t want to give up power. I believe he might even want to attack Ukraine. His like Natanyaho, better to kill than lose power.

    4. That megalomaniac fuck. We will vote him out of office May 2026 but we can only hope he doesn’t do something irreversably stupid until then.

[The Security Service of Ukraine has uncovered a Hungarian military intelligence network tasked with identifying vulnerabilities in Ukraine’s air and ground defenses and evaluating public sentiment regarding the possible entry of Hungarian military forces into a Ukrainian region](https://www.pravda.com.ua/eng/news/2025/05/9/7511385/)

    6. War with whom? There’s no country around them they could attack without being utterly destroyed, Ukraine with one hand tied at the back would still destroy them because they have the most experienced army, they would send drones up Orban’s ass. Maybe Slovakia?

He bet on China and Russia winning, from the beginning. The problem is this guy might be right. Trump is about to grant him his wish. By leaving europe and attacking the EU, and abandoning Ukraine to Putin, Trump de facto destroys Nato and any European stability.

Ukraine will be dismantled and backstabbed by Hungary. Then it will be Romania’s turn. Russia does not need Romania in its current form and Orban will lobby Putin for Transylvania.

This also explains Fico’s behavior. He hopes to protect Slovakia by aligning himself with Putin. And Serbia is already Russia client state. This leaves Romania as the most evident target.

      > […] Europe must take Budapest’s double language seriously and reflect on the long-term implications of a Hungary that abandons the “peace mentality” in favor of “war preparation”.

Not happening. Short of actively invading a neighbour, the Commission has made it clear: Nothing will happen. At most, some money is withheld. And blackmailed free, as soon as the veto can be weaponised. Rinse and repeat.

The EU is not going to be a vector for change in Hungary. In fact, it’s not even trying.

      Problem(s):

      1. Hungary is in demographic collapse.

      2. HU army is 70k ( incl reservists, paramilitary ).

      3. You need 1:100 ratio between soldiers and civilians for occupation duty so ~ 12k only for Zakarpattia Oblast ( front troops not included ).

      4. UA army is ( much ) stronger.

      5. HU has the alleged grievances, but not the economy, poluation, geography or allies to back up its dictator’s wild delusions.

6.Zakarpattia is a relatively resource poor/low GDP ( 2B EUR ) region inhabited almost entirely by ukrainians ( 90% ). A money black hole even if everything goes right ( it won’t ).

There is a reason why Mark Twain said politicians need to be changed often.

TL;DR “Strongmen” are complete cretins. Always.

Trump also mused that they might relocate the US troops from Germany to Hungary. I sincerely hope that will not happen, because it just feels really suspicious.

Honestly annoying that Germany and Sweden (among others) are continuing to sell them military equipment when it’s been proven time and time again how they’re not a reliable EU and NATO ally. They’re in the pockets for Putler…
