Going back to 90s so soon.We better hope Pashinyan’s government stays in power
Russia has **never** been pro-Azerbaijani. They have **always been pro-Armenian.** Only they were **silenced** since 2018 because of Pashinyan’s policy. Now they are not. Look at all the countries that recognised Fartsakh up until 2024. All Russian satellites. All of them! Russia has **never** openly supported Azerbaijan. Putin in particular, never did so either. Even EU has been more pro-Azerbaijan, especially up to 2020s. **Almost all of the EU countries’ foreign ministers openly supported the Azerbaijani stance in Karabakh,** while no Russian official **ever said** that Karabakh is a part of Azerbaijan. This should be in every Azerbaijani’s mind, together with 20 January, Khojaly, and the repressions during the Soviet times (also the fact that Azerbaijani Democratic Republic **itself was founded against** Russia- and Britain, with Ottoman/Turkish help). In no cases, there aren’t **any logical possibilities for Azerbaijan to be allies with Russia-** it is as if Finland or Poland are allies with Russia. Armenia can be, as Russia somehow “rescued” them in 1915 (that event was also organised by Russia and Britain together), later on supporting them to massacre Azeris in March 1918. Now that everything is visible, it is time for Azerbaijan to distant itself from Russia. I can even go further and say Russia made Armenians and Azeris enemies, but I don’t want to talk a lot. I wish all the best for Azerbaijani foreign policy in the future.
