Jesus I hate this so much, for these poor children.
Anyone who’s lived in the “post soviet” countries know the horrors of it and have personal stories from their parents/grandparents (if you’re under 35). Imagine growing up with them as this biggest fear, but at least knowing it’s all in the history books. And then have it all crushed when you’re forced into situations like this image, with symbolism that’s just as horror-inducing as swastika, and even being forced to serve in the (para)militaries of the scum country that took your freedoms and innocence of it being “just in history books” to your doorstep.
My heart aches for these children, and every Ukranian living this way…
