This is the way.
Here’s hoping they can divert more and more away from overseas deals to homegrown military industry. There are some holes in procurement that required them to do deals abroad but hopefully in future they can fill it natively.
UK military spending will soon hit 2.5% and then 3%. Of the larger economies in Europe it’ll be the largest spender probably only eclipsed by this recent big German spending spree that’s about to happen.
To put this into context when it hits 3% that’ll be just over £100 billion (about €120 billion) per year. Because the UK tends to prioritise air force and navy this will mean good things for projects like GCAP and ship building.
