A Cork man who was accused of upskirting killed himself, its worrying how prevalent this seems to be happening to women.
But CEO of Hotline, Mick Moran has said the phenomenon of upskirting is likely under-reported.
“Many people who are targeted don’t know it is happening, and they are unlikely to find the images online because the images may not be shared, and if they are their faces are not visible. They might become aware of them if they are targeted for financial gain, but otherwise they just will not know,” he said.
I will wear big shorts under my dresses FOREVER. I’ve had men photograph me while working out and stuff, I’m talking full whack with flash. I think women know implicitly how bad it is if I’m being for real with you.
I’m not sure it’s that victims or unaware or it’s literally not worth lodging a complaint.

Not sure how you address this other than education, as you literally have to catch somebody in the act to prove it.
Nobody who has proper empathy for the dignity of others would do this so it comes down to educating people on what is and isn’t an acceptable way to treat a human being.
The thing is, I say education… But I don’t remember anyone having to teach me that up-skirting would be a bad thing to do. I just implicitly knew it. If people don’t already know that…
Didn’t Japan implement something where all mobile phones have to make a loud audible “beep” when photos are being taken… could we do the same?
