Unfortunately with the ever-decreasing standards in the care industry due to huge lack of workers relative to demand, this type of thing is going to become more and more frequent as less suitable people end up in the job due to desperate hiring practices.

Thank god the colleague was there to quickly raise the alarm. It’s a really horrible thing, but I am glad others are switched on enough to act fast and decisively when they see something like this. One more thing I’d like to add, is that whilst some Brits are inclined to be pro-privacy and anti-filming, I’m relieved that this incident was briefly recorded on CCTV. Some of our most vulnerable people need all the safeguarding they can allow. If police officers are expected badge cams for privacy, why not care workers?
