I (genuinely) haven’t opened the link but I would wager a guess that this is related to Palestine in some form.

Kick them off the course if they’re nationals, and revoke their student visas if they’re foreign. You can (peacefully) protest however you wish but the minute ‘armed resistance’ comes into play we are on the cusp of terrorist sympathising.

      Throw the book

It seems pretty obvious to me that they mean “armed resistance” in Palestine, not in the UK.

Armed resistance against occupation, apartheid, and genocide is well established under international law, and Palestinians absolutely do have the right to assert their rights through force of arms within the laws of war.

No, Hamas didn’t obey the laws of war when they killed civilians openly on October 7th, but the principle of armed resistance against occupation is completely legitimate and long established.

I think it’d be a huge stretch to say they mean armed resistance in the UK within the context of what they’ve written, and I would bet money this will come to absolutely nothing. It’d be like arresting a politician for supporting the people who fought against the Islamic State for “inciting violence” even though, again, it is a legal right.

From the articles I’ve read from this source (whenever it’s posted here) I must say it seems exceptionally low quality.

Edit: it’s clear from the comments that nobody commenting has read the article, get it together fffs.

I hadn’t realised the IDF were operating in Leeds now.

      > The demonstration, held on Saturday 10 May by leedsstudents4palestine, went ahead days after the group published a graphic Instagram post urging followers to “let our collective rage erupt” and “strengthen unity around armed resistance”.

Perhaps they should go to Gaza and fight the IDF if they want to engage in armed resistance. But since they are students just playing pretend Che Guevara I’m sure they won’t. Armed resistance for thee, pints in the pub after protesting for me.

This is what happens when you can’t get a pint of warm Amstel for £2 in the S.U bar anymore.

Well if that’s not a biased source with an out of context screenshot that I don’t know what is…..where are the mainstream media sources?

A cursory look at this group’s instagram account will show you a bunch of young people wandering around Leeds city centre in face coverings

Not sure why. Student protesters don’t generally cover their faces, really… 🤔
