As long as NATO countries silently watch this and tolerate Putin’s troops, they will continue to bully and provoke.

Shoot it down. Violation of Airspace is just as simple. No fly zone for Russian Airforce over Nato and enforce it.
If we ramp up spending and not make deterence visable its just a waste of money.

So they cut a corner while flying over the sea for less than a minute same as tons of aircraft around the world every day? How scary, I’m sure r/Europe will have a completely normal reaction once again.

I was previously downvoted by everyone in this sub for referencing Zbignew during the Russia-Ukraine debate. (I got about -3 and -2, but I was right again because everyone in this sub has low political intelligence)
Now I look back and only a few hours have passed since I said “Russia’s strong exit from Ukraine will make it an empire and lead it to the Baltics” and Russia has started provoking Estonia as I thought.
Despite the racist and disproportionate responses from people in this sub, I will reiterate the following warnings:
1) The Russians are waiting for Thursday, if the expected gains in Ukraine are achieved, they will start to turn towards the Baltic or Finland.
2) The next stop for Russia, as predicted by Zbignew Brzezinski: Finland-Baltic-Balkans and potentially Inner Europe and Turkey
3) If Russia makes gains in Ukraine and the Baltics, as Zbignew says, it will no longer be a democracy or an authoritarian regime, but an “Empire”.
4) Russia’s policy towards the Balkans and Europe in order to reach the warm seas should be carefully monitored. It is always a possibility that the Russians will turn to Cyprus or Malta.
Looking at the outlines, I have seen people writing that NATO should intervene immediately, which is just funny. Trump is very reluctant on NATO’s behalf and Erdogan is a pragmatist, so the 2 countries that can work on NATO’s behalf have already been eliminated, except for France-Britain-Poland.
By the very nature of realpolitik and political realism, Putin will seek to fill and seize opportunities from any power vacuum he finds. Russia’s main purpose in fixing the EU and the US may be to buy time for China to invade the island nation of Taiwan.
Finally, for those who downvote me and claim that I am wrong, this is the cold and bitter truth. As I predicted, the Russians will be heading towards the Baltic and Finland in 1 day (even I am surprised that it is so early).
Good luck!

People say shoot it down. I kinda agree, but it would also be a very heavy answer to a trespass that lasted less than 1 minute over the sea.
It would make any diplomatic de-escalation, however dysfunctional, extremely hard to get through.

Its funny how a bunch of “people” immediately rushed into the thread to accuse Estonia of piracy, when that incident isn’t even mentioned in the article. Propaganda, made to order.
