He already started saying “We know you are gonna fraud these elections, our advice is to stop with this plan”
This is very scary for me, people are strongly divided.
I bet if he loses he’s gonna copy Trump in 2020 with everything; violent protests, not recognising the elections results, etc.

Keep an eye out and see if they start useing violent rhethoric and then be ready to deal with it and maybe see if you can catch them red handed in it to procequte them.

Don’t worry pal, they cancelled the elections and managed to get 10.000 people in the street. They won’t get more after they lose monday.

Do the citizens of Bucuresti support Simion?
In Hungary the capital, Budapest was the backbone of the resistance where the urban citizens have never accepted Orbánism.
If urban intellectuals can hold the cities keeping them under pro-eu/centrist leadership, than that is already a strong share of votes no?
The other side of the coin: rural areas by our experience react only to economic hardships. Fidesz has seeped into rural communities like cancer, and they took credit for every development that was funded by the EU – stealing a lot of money on the way and creating local, feudal-lord like mayors.
Under sufficient economic stress, the people will turn on them.
For us Hungarians, without the EU withholding the funds this would have never happened. We saw a quarter of our savings vanish due to the de-valuation of the forint, record inflation month by month, and maintained recession. This is the price of even getting a chance to change the system once they take control.
So for the love of god, your people really don’t have to look far to see what these goons can do to a country. Don’t let it happen to you!

Listen to the people that are anti EU.
No seriously.
Sometimes there is a grain of truth that gets warped into a crazy propaganda. Some times that grain of truth is sadly a mistake on EU’s part that can be fixed, and in that can disarm the propaganda.
Also there absolutely needs to be a force aiming at the propaganda. Analazing it and managing reactions.

You can’t prevent that in a democracy. What you can do as a functioning democracy is to respond adequately to violence. Prepared, efficient, proportional and within the legal boundaries.

As an American who watched the Jan 6 events unfold in horror. If we had thousands of our own supporters surrounding and protecting the capitol building, that probably would’ve done it. Granted there probably would’ve been some kind of violent confrontation, but they wouldn’t have made it into the building.
Otherwise it was largely legal challenges, propaganda, grifters, and a couple of bad faith actors within the government election system who had fallen for the aforementioned propaganda. Harder to prevent those.

There would be no incidents: Simion’s supporters are scattered among the countryside (and many even abroad, all across Europe) and they are the kind of people who prefer to gather on social networks rather that real mobs.
Don’t forget that in 2020 Trump was the outgoing president and it has been proved that if he didn’t support the 9th of January incident directly he surely didn’t act to stop it. Simion isn’t president and the current Romanian government isn’t on his side for sure.
Anyways, I’m afraid we’ll not have this problem, because, most likely, he’s gonna win the elections.

For those unaware he is already alerting his opponent to “stop trying to commit fraud” concerning the election, 2nd day in a row without any concrete evidence.
