      It would be great if another Russian sponsored asset looses an election. Putin is still seeing Eastern Europe as part of Russia and is happy to spend money there.

      This isnt me pretending Dan is “perfect” “wonderful” or anything else there.

      He seems to just be a decent normal guy, compared to a brutish asshole, with equally brutish asshole politics

      Did the recent polls manage anyhow to deal with whatever happened in the first rounds (from this election and from 2024 election), where russian puppets systematically scored way better than in polls ? Like include a margin of “some fuckers are lying, Simion’s score is higher than our poll thus we predict 10% more for him” ?

      Maybe people have woken up, but I doubt that. As a Romanian, I am ashamed of most of the population of my country, and consider that most of them are either ignorants or hypocrites.

      Imagine this: **Simion promotes a sovereigntist, anti-EU agenda and most of his supporters are living abroad, working in Western European countries**. If it wasn’t for Romania being part of the EU, they wouldn’t be there in the first place.

      Not only that, but Simion himself is a hypocrite. Simion publicly promised to attend all presidential debates during the second round, but he came to only one at Euronews where he got absolutely destroyed by Nicusor. Since then, he resorted to fleeing the country to get external legitimacy from other politicians. While abroad, he has only worsen Romania’s external connections and at the same time caused mayhem back home too. The latest example: Simion referring to Nicusor as “autistic” in a derogatory manner. Making matters worse, his allied party, POT, issued a bizarre public statement demanding that Nicusor Dan provide medical documentation proving he is not mentally ill. Dan responded with dignity, offering a public apology to anyone with autism who may have been offended by Simion’s language.

      Simion’s whole life is based on derogatory statements, lies and all-in-all, being totally delusional. But what can you expect from a person who isn’t sure if the Earth is flat or round. That’s the Romanian population in a nutshell as well.

      To quote a comment I’ve seen recently:

      > 90% of Romanians support EU and Nato alignment but 40% of them want to vote for the anti-EU guy cos they’re disappointed with the establishment. Someone make it make sense.

      This election could be closer than I expected. Lots will depend on turnout. A high turnout is good for Dan so let’s hope turnout will hit at least 60%.

      No no no. People have to get out and vote and not listen to polls. The voters of Simion (pro-Russia) have stated countless of times that if asked will say they vote with Nicusor only to skew the results of polls.

      The only poll that matters will be the one from Sunday. And everyone has to answer to it.

      Anyone who saw the polls from the last presidential elections in Romania knows quite well that the polls conducted in Romania aren’t very accurate or simply aim to present the result that the person who paid for the poll wants to see. Therefore, do not trust the polls coming out of Romania too much, as you might end up being disappointed with the results of the presidential elections.

      WHO IS USING THESE COLORS, I almost had a heart attack. Simion/AUR are the usual gold/yellow ones since it’s the color of their party logo.

      I heard Simion was leading. I think I’ve seen this before, here in Canada and then in Australia. Could he be the next far right politician to go down, and join Poilievre and Dutton?
