And people were wondering why Syria hasn’t fully kicked the Russian army from its last bases in Latakia and Tartus

They are still too damn dependent on them due to Assad selling his country to Russia

The new Syrian government is basically like a guy trying to walk on a tightrope over the Grand Canyon

They have to do their best to not piss off Russia, Iran,Israel, US, Saudi Arabia,Turkey, even as Russia and Iran butchered their people for a decade and as Israel occupied some of their territory

And all this while avoiding a civil war along ethnic and sectarian lines.

And all this while Russia and Iran run social media campaigns to stoke ethnic and religious conflicts.

And all this while having 50% inflation and 70% unemployment , and average salary of 50 euros

It’s a miracle from God that the country didn’t collapse into civil war.

If US was to experience 10% of the suffering that Syria experiences now, there would be mass shootings at every Walmart and Costco

well at least we can celebrate one country on the path for reformation now. I encourage them to hold elections and to set up a bill of rights, free speech, due process, no cruel and unusual punishments. The biggest upgrade is that there won’t be any more inhumane prison system where prisoners were being tortured. That’s the main thing you should sign into your system. No more cruel treatments, arresting people without cause.

Never forget how the far right AfD and others were willing to re-establish relations with Assad and lift sanctions to force him to take Syrian refugees back

Now we have 60% decline in Syrian refugees coming into Europe in January-March, compared to same period last year, and we didn’t even begin to lift sanctions until February

And we got rid of a Russian puppet who was selling 152mm artillery shell cassings to Russia to use them to kill more Ukrainians

Worse, if Assad won the Civil war, many Syrians would be likely forced out of poverty to be cannon fodder for the Russian army in Ukraine and beyond

We are seeing an end to both the Syrian refugee crisis and the Russian occupation of Syria, it’s like God gave us a gift
