This is what happens when you put numbers over actual wellbeing and character, you end up admitting all sorts of creeps and weirdos. Not just the army, police too.
Unfortunately I doubt this comes as a surprise for anyone with experience of the military. It shouldn’t be like this, everyone in right now deserves better but here we are.
Don’t believe me? Have a look at the inquiry into war crimes in AFG, and tell me whether you think the RMP did a good job. (Spoiler: They did not.)

Trouble is, after two decades of pointless foreign adventures we have a military leadership and structure which reflects that. It’s all about senior career progression and activity for the sake of it, rather than anything useful. We’re well overdue for reform.
And one part of that is undoubtedly setting up an actually independent body to investigate crimes within the military.

Every single large employer has people that are possible sexual offenders.
Just look at the NHS. Employs over a million and every year there thousands of complaints against it’s staff for sexual offences or inappropriate behaviour.
The RMP will be no different than a civilian police force. The complainant in this case being a Sgt would know that she could of used the anonymous reporting network, filed a complaint with the SIB or even gone to a home office Police Force.
It’s clear the Staff Sgt should of been investigated and if proven guilty of any offences… court martialed.
The problem isn’t with the reporting channels available, it’s the actions once these investigations are submitted to legal services or CPS. The evidential thresholds for charging for rape are high, even more so for historic reports when the forensic window has passed and witness evidence is practically none existent.
Who would bother joining the Army now as man or a women? It’s clearly rotten, a horrible mixture of being possibly Toxic mixed in with DEI critical race theory brainwashing.
Exiting the service takes 12 months, unless you have a firm offer of employment. The time to bring “charges” can take longer than 12 months, therefore the service person can leave the military before the court case.
That court case in this instant would be a court marital. It’s like a crown court, but a military version. He’ll still be called back and sentenced ~ if convicted.
I’m still a member of the UK Armed Forces, it isn’t all like this. This is just one bad apple being reported by the media.
We’re actually quite cool, we get stuff done *at the demand of the UK Government* ,(whom you elected) and pay a really good salary/pension.
