      At this rate i think it would just be cheaper to knock it down and start again.

      And then the renovations can begin. I was told by a consultant pediatrician who’s a family member that that when they were given a tour a few months back they pointed out it was a bit too open plan and there were not enough private spaces for when parents and family have bad news and need privacy. The person giving the tour said it has been noted before as a design issue and will be rectified once the hospital is open. So broken before it starts.

      The fun will actually start when they try and open the hospital. I was told the hse want the entire hospital operating in day 1. That’s going to be an absolute shit show

      Completed is one thing, usable is another, ready to move all children from other hospitals is yet another. You can only move during summer to avoid flu season etc., realistically you’re looking at summer 2027.

      Taking 4000 staff from other already understaffed hospitals seems like a great strategy.

      Was it true that some of the rooms have been built with your standard width doors as opposed to wider ones for wheel chairs, trolleys etc?

      Heard that but could only be a rumour.

      I quickly read that as “delayed until last September” and it somehow still would have been correct.
