A government that allegedly wants to protect the arts and the environment selling out for AI. Imagine my surprise
Too late Elton, the genie is well out of the bottle. If the UK try and impose regulations now people will just use AI trained in countries without the restrictions.

If “AI” can use copyrighted materials without payment or attribution then why can’t humans? This essentially removes copyright and makes it impossible to make any money unless you’re already a big company because they’ll just steal any ideas.
He is almost 80 and makes it clear he makes plenty of money, and it’s not about him, its about new artists who, unless they become huge will have a hard time making money and more so if AI gets to take what it wants
Even Elton would make the lion’s share of his money these days from tours.
It’s good for him to stand up for the next generation, as Starmer is so obsessed with AI that he doesn’t care.
If we are so incredibly terrified of the declining birthrates and want people to continue having children why are we so openly pushing technology and AI? Surely it’s one or the other AI and improvements in technology are going to continue to remove jobs and access to income but they want us to keep having kids?
Yea I’m sure the young generation who are just continously fucked over are going to want to bring up children in a world that doesn’t give a shit about them. Not like the issue even gets this far for young people to even contemplate considering nobody can afford to have kids cause everyone is living with their parents into their 30’s.
