That guy getting 46.4% of the votes is still very worrying.

Nice to see Romania pushing back against the far-right tide we’ve seen elsewhere in Europe. A rare W for democracy and EU unity

It’s very important that NicuÈ™or Dan uses this coming term to make changes and moves the country forward. A lot of the people that voted for Simion did so because they were fed up with other parties doing nothing for 30 years. If ND makes progress, the risk of repeat next elections should be lower.

I must say, as a Romanian, that this shows that we did our part, and the xenofobia we sometimes face in Western Europe has to stop. Western Europeans need to understand that not all Romanians are thieves and robbers, as some think. We are smart hardworking people, and, like any nation, we have our bad apples, that, unfortunately, landed as immigrants in Western Europe. That does not characterise us as a whole people and nation.

You must understand, a big part of the population that voted for the far right populist, did that because they are tired when, for example, they are in Italy on vacation, they are asked where are you from, they answer Romania, and people change their tone or behave differently.

      Thanks, Trump.
You’re waking up the rest of the world against right wing populism.
