This makes a lot of sense to me. In today’s drone dominated combat, tanks don’t survive much longer than lighter armor anyway, once spotted. I’d love to hear what a real tanker thinks about this.

This reminds me of WW2 “french tanks” jokes… but hey, if it’s stupid but it works, it’s not stupid!

I don’t think it can go faster than a drone, especially if there is no road.

What they say in the article is that it can potentially get out of cover, fire and return back before a drone notices it because of its speed.

I don’t think it would protect it from drones though.

They also say that the higher elevation of the barrel can help with fighting drones by firing a “shotgun” shell. But I think for that there has to be more equipment – some kind of radar to help aim/automatically move and fire the shot when the drone is in sight.

Manually moving the turret/barrel is too slow.

My main takeaway is that the tank is being sent to basically test out it’s effectiveness in the battlefield and if it goes well then other tanks in Ukraine’s possession can be updated?

If it works well then that’s amazing for Ukrainian tanks as it gives more capabilities to take out drones and be more protected as a result, this could give Ukraine an advantage as far as tanks are concerned

Sorry to say, but this tank is going to last maybe a little bit more but will go down as any other.
