I’d have thought it was a given. Dogs have better legal protection.

      > The Victims and Courts Bill includes an amendment which would remove parental responsibility from convicted paedophiles – but only if they have abused their own children

Hard to imagine what a child rapist could offer a child in terms of the love and support required from a parent.

Really need to stop applying human rights laws to beasts.

Never let them out, this solves the problem of what they’re entitled to after their sentences.

Surely it shouldn’t be that hard to legislate something that works like a restraining order.

I’m sure it’s possible if the parent attacked their child, why wait for that?

What’s stopping it? There is no majority defending pedo fathers.

Crazy that paedophiles would not automatically loose their parental rights. Plus the poor mother having to spend £30k fighting this is worse.

Not sure I’d want Harriet Harman anywhere near this, given the more-than-just-rumours regarding her and PIE in the 70s.

    7. I can understand why people will be appalled by this but a blanket rule to ban all offenders from contact with their own children won’t be right either. As always context is important, and at least the current law spares victims contact from their own abusers.
