Oh yes, let me buy it on Amazon IE/UK ten times more expensive

God forbid those of us who are feeling the squeeze and a bit tight on money should be able to save a small bit of money

Fuck off with the protectionist bullshit, people are buying cheap Chinese slop and shit US products because not only are they cheaper than the shite we actually produce here, they’re better too. A 2€ flat fee offers no protectionism, it’s just another bullshit tax posturing as policy

Tbh I don’t see why people are mad about this. There’s no point pursuing climate-friendly policies if we’re going to allow unsustainable mass-produced foreign goods outcompete domestic industries. If we’re making Eu companies less competitive on the export market, we have to shield them from the import market.

So I’m being coerced into buying from Amazon.ie rather than co.uk.?

Is this as well as paying the VAT?

I better order my temu shades for 2e before this 2e fee additional package fee comes in
Maybe the EU should be subsidising shipping like the Chinese do
It’s insane I can get a part sent to me all the way from China with free shipping but if I get it from France/Germany I pay a tenner for postage

Phew, glad I don’t live in a flat

Include the €5 processing fee that the delivery very company will slap on and include the extra admin overhead and you’ll think EU just wants to stay in the past. The world is moving forward and the EU isn’t keeping up.

More protectionist bollocks. My hobby is electronics and before these sites came along you’d pay through the fucking nose for parts from the likes of Maplin a fiver for something that should cost cents.
I suppose we are going back to that.

Governments and companies are only adding all these fees as a stealth tax, it’s getting ridiculous the amount bits added onto any service nowadays.

Wonder if this will apply to the UK or if they’ll be exempt.
Would have a big impact on Amazon UK if it applies to them

That’s so stupid. So instead we should just order more so it’s a bigger package and avoids the fees? How is that any better?
