      The fact that Michael Martin can actually stand up and make a statement like that in the Dail with a straight face is absolutely shocking.

      Gee Micheál! Ya think!? It’s not like parents haven’t been screaming this at governments at least since you were Minister of Health. And when they get the Assessment Of Need the services who are supposed to take them have waiting lists years long. Especially autism services. It’s BROKEN! Don’t pretend to be concerned now.

      And to think that Mehole Martin is responsible for creating the HSE in the first place when he was Minister for Health…

      2 years and waiting here… it’s a nightmare. System isn’t fit for purpose at all. Rang them this week for an update for my son and was advised they’re still working through 2022 cases.

      Can anyone here who voted for Fianna Fáil or Fine Gael or any of the supposed independents associated with them please explain why you’re supporting these failures?

      >TAOISEACH MICHEÁL MARTIN has said the HSE is “not in a position to fulfil the law right now” when it comes to meeting the statutory six-month timeline for providing assessments of needs for children with disabilities.

      Sooo, in a democracy the people give elected representatives a mandate from the vote…which in turn is meant to be used to keep the state in check.

      If the state need not abide by the law…then what’s the fucking point exactly! Tits on a fucking bull this shower.

      Also another timely reminder how they cynically planned a year out to electioneer on disability rights and services they never had any intention of providing.

      And our governments solution is to change the law so they aren’t breaking it.

      Is shows the issue with legal system and legislation more than anything. Endless legislation is passed with unintended consequences. EU environmental law isn’t passed with the intention of causing a climate disaster but that’s what it does given you can’t build a wind farm onshore in Ireland and get a grid connection now.

      A 6 month obligation makes no sense when you can’t build houses in Dublin with planning, which means huge swathes of the public service are going to be denuded. Need a carer or an OC or childcare or an assessment? Well we probably can’t hire lots of these roles or the support staff they require because the pay isn’t enough to live on.

      There needs to be a judicial review into the running of the HSE, preferably taken by a parent.

      At what point are people going to be held accountable

      At what point are people going to stop voting for this 😭

      I’m also not in a position to fulfill the law, because of all the drugs I want to do. Phew, that was a close one.
