Bold of them to put a horse right there in the banner picture, IT’s policy is normally to pretend it’s a complete and total mystery where the rubbish might have come from.
Labre Park/Bluebell next lads. About 50 years worth of environmental destruction in the area between the 5th and 7th locks on the grand canal. I remember as a kid seeing black oil draining into the soil and canal from broken down cars, all next to a massive open landfill and an adjoining mound of horse waste.
Fair play fixing it not taking away from that. The real question is what will be done to stop it happening somewhere else in the locality and or happening again
Waste collection in Ireland needs to be run by the state.
If it is free/taxpayer funded, then nobody has any incentive to dump illegally.
<rant>
Waste should be ‘free’, if it was easier to get rid of stuff people could not only replace with new stuff or redecorate but might even consider downsizing…
Look at the waste in Spain, underground massive bins every block or two, both commercial and residential use, no stinky in the way wheelchair cyclist moaning wheelie bins and trucks everywhere!
Also should be using the incinerator for the majority of it and hurry up with the plasma gasification stuff!
And don’t get me started on stupid recycling… if they want rubbish separated have criminals and dole merchants on a conveyor!
