Why didn’t he join the IRA? His community was under attack by British-Unionist collusion in the 60s and 70s and he didn’t fight back?
Puts me in mind of Monty Pythons ‘Dead’ Parrot, sketch.
It goes to show you how successful the BBC have been at starting wars with lies.
More importantly though you have to remember there was absolutely no push back from the Irish government or media just like there was nothing when the Gardaí were surrendered to unionists or when RTÉ became a PR agency for the NI occupation when Ofcom’s Bakhurst was installed via a pay scandal.
The Irish media never questioned the BBC’s direct link to terrorists via a codeword system or ever questioned why or how the BBC was able to keep these lines of communication with known terrorists open and protected from the British government so they could continue to claim responsibility of bombings on behalf of the IRA of the day.
Its similar to how the BBC runs democratic interference for Israel and helps them assign blame to the Israeli created and funded Hamas militants.
There was even a period where the PSNI would just produce a A4 sheet of paper signed P O’Neill and that would be their proof.
What is really insane is how so many Irish people bought fully into this British colonial narrative and have never questioned it since. If they had any proof they wouldn’t have resorted to building up rumours and referring to quotes, they would have had him arrested.
Can anyone think of anything the popup IRAs in the 80s did that didn’t directly benefit the British colonialists?
What a waste of resources

Murdering bastard
His reputation
Lol
I mean, don’t care what you think of him.
A publicly funded broadcast shouldn’t be throwing around accusations without proper proof, feels to me like getting on propaganda territory.
McDonald, O’Neill et al have to tell Adams in no uncertain terms that he’s millstone around the neck of Sinn Fein. He’s the lightening rod for all the anti-Republican/partitionist energy which will scupper any chance of genuine constitutional change.
It’s hard not to rely on my reflexive hatred of Michael McGowl entirely and hope Adams wins but this is a circus where the benefit is hard to see so why Gerry brought it I don’t really know.
