this is one of the biggest rackets in recent memory. this is how we do corruption in this country. cronyism, back handers and brown envelopes.
Why on earth are we funnelling tax money straight into the pockets of landlords and asset holders whilst simultaneously killing tourism??? I’d say half of these places are in dire condition too.

    2. Yeah, it’s an industry.

Anyone who thinks benevolence rather than profit is the root of IPAS centres popping up all over the place is ridiculously naive at this point

      It’s well for some.

It kind of raises the question if the state could have provided the services and saved that 4.68m going into someone’s pocket. But that’d be direct provision and that’s bad so… 🫠

Greatest scam ever perpetrated in full view of the Irish people and most people couldnt give a shit. Or call you racist if you question it.

Remember this is absolutely stoppable in fully compliance of international and EU law. It’s a matter of enforcement.

Plenty European countries are doing it in a fully lawful manner. It’s actually far easier for us because we are so geographically isolated in Europe.

How many bike sheds or 3bed semis down the country could we have built for that 4.68 million?
